A super quick and easy sauce to make which will go great oven poultry, meat or veggies. This recipe combines 4 cheap(ish) ingredients that most of us have in our pantry and fridge already. Cream of chicken soup and mushroom soup, white wine and chicken stock. A tip to cooking with wine, is always cook with a wine you would drink, so you can drink whist cooking (unless your under the age of 18)! Ingredients: 1 Tin Cream of chicken Soup 1 Tin Cream of Mushroom Soup 1/2 Cup White Wine 1/4 Cup Chicken Stock Mix all ingredients together in a small saucepan and cook for 10mins or until sauce thickens and is hot. Serve hot. Note: You can mix the sauce and spread over chicken, place in the oven for 35mins until chicken is cooked.

A quick red wine sauce that's great on steaks, as a dressing on a salad or with a roast lamb. 4 ingredients that most of you will have in your pantry as well. This will work well with any red wine. I used chicken stock because i had some fresh stock in my fridge but a good beef stock will work just as well. Ingredients:
250ml Beef or Chicken stock 125ml Red Wine 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar 3 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar Method: Pour wine into a small saucepan and reduce by half. Add red wine, sugar and vinegar and leave to cook for 10mins (or longer if you want a stickier sauce). Season and serve. Ive never made my own flavored vinegar before but i can tell you its the most simple and rewarding thing you can do. Its so easy and looks great sat on your kitchen bench for all to admire. Can be done with any herb. Ingredients:
White Vinegar (depending on size or your container) Bunch of Tarragon clear bottle Method: Stuff the tarragon into your clear bottle fill with vinegar and let sit for a week before straining and putting in a clean sterilized decorative bottle. An amazing white sauce that is perfect with lasagne. Add cheese to make a creamy cheese sauce. Ingredients:
1 Cup Milk 1/2 Onion, Sliced 1 Bay Leaf 6 Peppercorns 30g Butter 1 Tablespoon Plain Flour Method: Put milk, onion, bay leaf and peppercorns in a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and leave to infuse for 10mins. Strain milk discarding flavors. Melt butter in a pan and stir in flour, cook stirring for 1 minute until mixture is golden and bubbling. Remove from the heat and gradually add in milk, stirring until smooth. Return to the heat and stir until mixture boils, continue cooking until sauce gets thick, remove from heat and season. Note: To make cheese sauce just ass 1 Cup Cheese. My husband Tyson is a bbqaholic (if that's even a word?) But seriously anything bbq related he knows. Anything from succulent pulled pork to simple juicy sirloin steak this man can master. This is one of his go to rubs for our pulled pork. Sprinkle this amazing rub into any type of meat or seafood. 100g Paprika ( I use smoked paprika) 50g Salt 2 Tablespoons Mustard Powder 50g Cumin powder 3 Tablespoons Black Pepper 50g Garlic powder 1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper ( You can use more if you like it hot) 50g Sugar Mix all ingredients together. Place in a sealed container and keep in the cupboard. |
