I'm a sucker for a good mushroom sauce, whenever i have steak when im out for dinner i always order mushroom sauce. This recipe tastes like the sauces i get when i dine out. It's meaty and full of flavor, come on give it a go. Ingredients:
1 Onion, diced 1/2 Clove Garlic, crushed 250g Mushrooms, sliced 3 sprigs of Thyme leaves 3 teaspoons Flour 350ml Boiling Water 1 Chicken stock Cube 2 teaspoons Mustard (dijon or english) 2 Tablespoons Sour Cream Olive oil Method: Add a dash of olive oil into a large frying pan over a medium heat. Add onions and garlic and fry until onions are soft but not coloured. Add the mushrooms and thyme leaves and cook for a further 5mins. Stir in the flour and mix it in (it will get a little cluggy). Add stock bit by bit stirring thoroughly. Cook until stock has reduced and thickened up. Just before serving add the mustard and sour cream. Stir through and turn off the heat. Season with salt and pepper and serve hot.
